LUSCIOUS, DELICIOUS LETTUCES

Our product range has some twenty different high-quality lettuce varieties. Our luscious, delicious lettuces are among the largest of their kind in Finland. Because we give the lettuce all the time they need to grow to their full size, they contain less water and more flavour. Our lettuces are crisp, flavourful and grown in a way that respects the environment. We grow our produce with sunlight and only use biopesticides. Our hand-raised lettuces are full of green energy, vitamins and minerals.

ICELETTUCE

Crisp, leafy and crunchy, iceberg lettuce is one of DeliVerde’s most popular products. It is an outstanding addition to any fresh salad, giving it plenty of body and that extra oomph. Its crispiness also keeps it from wilting as quickly as soft-leaved lettuces. It can take heat well and is even good in stir-fry dishes, adding a touch of green crispiness.

SALAD BOWL

DeliVerde’s Salad Bowl lettuce is one of the most popular lettuces in Finland thanks to its versatility. Mild and juicy, Salad Bowl lettuce is perfect for fresh salads, soups and as a sandwich topping. Salad Bowl lettuce contains an abundance of vitamins and minerals. It is an especially good source of vitamin A and potassium.

CURLY ENDIVE

Curly endive lettuce has a mild, somewhat sweet flavour and adds body and fluff to fresh salads. This crisp lettuce is well suited to a variety of dishes and, thanks to its beautifully ornamental leaves, it is also often used as a garnish.

LOLLO ROSSO

The flavour of this blushing red, soft-leaved lettuce is a bit more piquant than your ordinary, run-of-the-mill lettuce. Thanks to its colour and beautiful appearance, Lollo Rosso is often used as a garnish and in lettuce blends.

ROMAINE

Romaine lettuce has long, large and rough leaves and a more pungent flavour than an ordinary butterhead lettuce. It is used in fresh salads mixed with other lettuce varieties and is also excellent with hot dishes.

OAK LEAF

The loose head of oak leaf lettuce is ample and full. It has a rich flavour, but is not bitter. Oak leaf can be used in fresh salads and as a garnish. Mixing oak leaf with other varieties of lettuce will produce a visually impressive salad.

RICH, AROMATIC HERBS

Our gardens’ lineup also boasts a wide variety of herbs, whose aroma and richness will enchant. When herbs are properly cared for in an home-like environment, the household chef will be able to make good use of them for several months. Large, high-quality herbs can also be planted in a garden. A majority of them are perennials.

LEAF PARSLEY

The flavour of leaf parsley is slightly stronger than ordinary parsley, making it it a suitable base seasoning for many dishes. The fresh taste of leaf parsley goes well with onions, chives and garlic. It can be used as a seasoning like ordinary parsley, but its flavour is more intense and layered.

THYME

Thyme is one of the world’s oldest aromatic and medicinal plants. In cooking, it is often used with beef dishes, but it also works extremely well as a flavour enhancer for fish, pasta and soups. Thyme gives boiled rice and dishes simmered in wine a stunning flavour.

ROSEMARY

Rosemary is the ideal herb for game, lamb and potato dishes as well as various marinades. Suitable partners for rosemary are parsley, various onions, mint and chervil. Rosemary is also excellent with many desserts, such as fruit salads and ice creams.

MINT

Refreshing mint adds a special kick to any beverage or dish no matter what time of year it is. It goes perfectly with lamb or game dishes for Christmas dinner or makes summer salads pop with cool freshness. As a refreshing herb, it is delightful to eat straight from the stem, together with a smoothie or as a garnish for food and baked goods.

CILANTRO

Cilantro is a foundational herb in the Asian kitchen, with its pungent aroma and unique flavour. It is a trendy herb that evokes strong opinions - you either love it or hate it. Cilantro is especially well suited as a seasoning for Asian dishes, salads, curry dishes and vegetable dishes.

BASIL

Basil is an aromatic and versatile herb, which goes with so many different kinds of foods. Even though it is perhaps best suited to tomato-based and Italian dishes, it also adds a crowning touch to vegetable dishes, casseroles and dishes using white meats or fish.
